Space

Let´s all go to the ISS together!

Since the end of the space shuttle era in 2011, this is the first time that American astronauts will be launched to the International Space Station from American soil. The event is scheduled to take place on May 27th 4:33 pm EDT, where NASA´s SpaceX Demo-2 mission will launch from the historic launchpad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people are not allowed to onsite, however the good news is that wherever you are in the world you can virtually participate in the event. This is the first global virtual NASA Social and I anticipate that millions of people will watch it online. I am so excited to witness (from home) the beginning of a new era in space travel!

I am also excited to see that this mission is the beginning of important investigations to develop new technologies for the future exploration of the Moon and Mars. With the Artemis program, NASA plans to send the first man and woman to the lunar surface in 2024, and what they learn on and around the Moon will be used to take the next big step: send people to Mars! But for now, lets all watch the American astronauts launch to the International Space Station and be happy in anticipation of what´s coming! See you all `virtually´ at the Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday!
